I don’t know when the idea started. <\/p>

Perhaps it’s the fact that I have Celiac’s disease and can’t eat actual bread. Maybe it’s just the aesthetic of bread that I find cute. Maybe I saw something and it made the gears in my brain go. I’m not sure what it was, but I wanted to make breakfast themed toast nails. <\/p>

I am not a proficient 3D nail sculptor, or even nail expert in any stretch of the imagination, so I often want to make nails that turn out to be way ahead of the curve of my actual ability. But the idea of making little toasts on nails was something I’ve wanted to do for a while. <\/p>

Mind you, I tend to put nails I want for myself way on the back burner, because I had other things to make and they were frankly silly and probably not super wearable, so they can wait. <\/p>

But then I saw it. <\/p>

On Sweetie Nail Supplies (my dealer of choice for expensive nail products) a new collection was announced. <\/p>

The Mayo Butter Collection<\/a>. <\/p>

Specifically the Special effect Strawberry Jam gel from it. I needed the collection. I yearned. <\/p>

So I added it into my cart, and took a freelance logo design job to buy it, and some glitter polishes. After going through the entire design process, sending an invoice, waiting to get paid, I happily opened the website to buy… and it was sold out. <\/p>

Disappointed, I said “You know what Natalia, it’s not to be, it’s fine. Get the glitter polish and this other collection you want, It’s totally fine.” <\/p>

I hit buy, chose the quickest shipping. <\/p>

So Literally the next day after I bought the other stuff, I got an email from Sweetie Nail Supplies letting me know that the Mayo Butter collection was back in stock. <\/p>

So, digging in to my savings I’d sworn not to touch, I ordered the Butter collection, and then accidentally chose the wrong shipping, so instead of it arriving quickly, It arrived in the slowest possible manner. <\/p>

But it was clear to me at this point- the universe wanted me to make these toast nails. <\/p>

As soon as the collection arrived, I swatched it- like all Mayo Korea collections the formula is so smooth and creamy, and a bit thicker than lots of other syrup style polishes. It’s a gorgeous collection and I love it. However, it was time to start part 1 of my toast nail plan- sculpting charms to go on to the nails. <\/p>

As previously stated, I am not that great of a sculptor, but with all things artistic I am an enthusiastic participant in making the effort. <\/p>

I used some very cheap white 3D nonstick extension gel and a metal palette with silicone tools to proceed to make some absolutely cute breakfast themed charms to put on the nails. <\/p>

As for the nails themselves, I am going to put them on my favourite shape for my own nails- short round. <\/p>

I haven’t yet started on the actual nails, the charms took longer than I care to admit to make. I do have an idea for making a sort of picnic blanket checkered plaid situation on some of the nails. I recently also got a set of Chinese nail inks, and I’ve seen them used for this sort of nail before, though I haven’t yet tried that sort of design myself. <\/p>

Hopefully I can make it look cute and not ugly. But you know, even if it is kind of ugly or homely, anything you spend time and effort into making is never a waste of time. <\/p>

Many people never really get to the creation part of an idea, so get out there and make something you dream of a reality, even if it is as silly as a set of nails with toast on them. <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
